A 'Finding Your Element' Special
By way of thanks to the Sir Ken Robinson community
What if the work you do every day felt like you - natural, joyful, and deeply meaningful? In this special programme, Sir Ken Robinson explores what it really means to be “in your element” and how to discover the unique combination of talent, passion, attitude and opportunity that gives your life purpose.
By way of thanks to the Sir Ken Robinson community for reaching 315,000 Facebook followers, 168,000 Instagram followers and nearly 25,000 YouTube subscribers, we’re delighted to present “Finding Your Element with Sir Ken Robinson” - originally presented on Netflix.
Filmed and produced in 2013 by Sir Ken’s dear friend Michael Rose - an award-winning author, journalist, documentary director, writer and producer - this talk expands on his worldwide bestselling books The Element and Finding Your Element.
Michael gave us this footage to post before he passed away, and we are especially to Michael and his wife Carol King, to be able to share this in his honour.
In Finding Your Element, Sir Ken offers a practical, humane guide to:
- Understanding your natural aptitudes and hidden talents
- Distinguishing between what you’re merely good at and what you truly love
- Seeing your life as unique, creative and organic - not a fixed, linear plan
- Reframing happiness as spiritual well-being, not material success
- Making thoughtful, strategic changes in your personal and professional life
He weaves research, humour and powerful stories - from concert pianists and mathematicians to Olympic athletes and solo round-the-world sailors, to show that everyone has the right to find work and ways of living that feel authentic and alive.
Footage kindly provided by Michael Rose, originally produced by Michael Rose for American Public Television.
